It’s hard to ignore religion when it’s constantly being shoved in places where is shouldn’t be. Namely,my face,the government,and our bed rooms. And it does sicken me every time I see some poor little child at my Mother’s Kingdom Hall being shamelessly manipulated.(I still remember what its like being in that position.Not very pleasant!)
And while I have known several religious persons who have been absolutely lovely people,(They were wiccans. A far cry from Christianity, for sure.Also my very best friend is Catholic,but I digress) I really do think things would be a lot better if everybody was on the same,reality-based page. I’d really like to give humanity some room to progress!

PS. Yes,I do realize how old this post is.(I kinda feel weird commenting)

Did I read your comment right? Did you actually say the following: “Isaiah 40:22 also claims that outer space “stretches out like a canopy”. That statement alone is implying that the Universe is expanding.”

Next time you see an expanding canopy, can you send me an email? I’d really like to see one.

You also said (to my amazement) “The Bible is not meant to be turned into a science book, even when it does make incredible scientific claims that are true.” Can I ask you a simple question? Have you actually read Genesis?
